Deployment: part 1 (GPO)

  1. Open Group Policy Management Editor
  2. Create a new GPO for the CyberSmart package
  3. Edit the GPO, then add the CyberSmart.msi package by navigating to Computer Configuration > Policies > Software Settings & right click on Software installation and select new

Deployment: part 2 (auto launch on start)

  1. Download the following batch file: first-launch.bat
  2. Open Group Policy Management Editor
  3. Right click on policy and select edit
  4. Add the CyberSmart.msi package by navigating to Computer Configuration > Policies > Software Settings & right click on Software installation and select new
  5. Optionally, if the behavior of launching the application at startup(only applies to first start/deployment) is desired, proceed to the next step, otherwise you are done.
  6. Navigate to to User Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Startup > Scripts > Logon
  7. Select Add, click Browse and select first-launch.bat 

Upgrades / Rolling Releases

  1. Download the latest CyberSmart.msi
  2. place the MSI file in your software distribution file share
  3. Open Group Policy Management Editor
  4. Navigate to the CyberSmart policy where you first created
  5. navigate to Computer Configuration > Policies > Software Settings & right click on Software installation and select new
  6. add the CyberSmart.msi file just downloaded
  7. You should now see that the newly added package has a green arrow icon indicating an upgrade.

Uninstalling

  1. Navigate to the CyberSmart policy where you first created and *unlink* the policy then delete it.
  2. Optionally, if you desire to keep the policy but remove the application, continue to step 3
  3. navigate to Computer Configuration > Policies > Software Settings 
  4. remove all of the packages by right-clicking > All Tasks > Remove
