How your Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) audit is booked depends on whether you bought CE+ through a partner, such as your IT provider, or directly from CyberSmart. Either way, the audit is booked from the dashboard.
If you bought through a partner
Your partner books the audit for you. If you try to schedule it yourself, you'll see this message: "Cyber Essentials Plus audit scheduling is managed by your partner. Please contact your partner when you're ready to arrange the audit." This is expected and isn't an error.
You can still start the pre-audit tasks yourself, so everything is ready when your partner books.
If you bought directly from CyberSmart
You book the audit yourself from your dashboard, using the steps below. Our team can only book audits on your behalf in limited circumstances, so booking from the dashboard is the quickest way to secure a date.
How to schedule the audit
The audit can be booked once the Cyber Essentials declaration has been signed and pre-audit has started.
Go to the Certificates page.
Open the Cyber Essentials Plus card.
In the Pre-audit tasks section, click Schedule audit (bottom right).
Choose a date from the calendar.
Book as early as you can. We recommend booking at least 30 days before your deadline, so there's time to fix anything the audit finds. CE+ must be completed within 90 days of your Cyber Essentials certificate being issued, or within 1 month of your audit date, whichever is sooner. This is an IASME requirement, so we can't extend it.
Contacting your assessor
Once your audit is booked, you'll receive an email from our Audit Support team called "Get Ready for Your Cyber Essentials Plus Audit". Reply on that email thread to reach your assessor, for example to:
ask a question about your audit
reschedule your audit
let them know a device won't be available on the day
Can't find the email thread? Contact Support with the best email address for your assessor to reach you, and we'll ask them to get in touch.
Clicked "Ask CyberSmart to review" by mistake?
Don't worry, this happens often. The audit team will let you know if anything is still missing, so you don't need to do anything.
