User Based Attribution (UBA) is a feature only used with organisations on bulk / centralised deployment. It allows administrators to start allocating devices by user accounts (emails) rather than by devices.

To activate UBA please speak with your MSP to get this activated for you. If you have purchased directly with CyberSmart please speak with our Support team to help get this enabled for you.

Once UBA has been activated, the devices will be put in a temporary unassigned state. When the devices have been assigned to a user they will appear and be grouped by users.

This allows Administrators to onboard en masse with a user list, and to easily assign Academy and Smart Policies to individuals.

This feature is predominately to make a user email the primary identifier for devices and desktops. This is necessary for features such as Academy and Smart Policies in order to track individual user’s training courses, as well as to see to which policies they have agreed to.

Once UBA has been activated on the organisation with centralised deployment. The user will be asked to verify their email address within the application itself.

To do this they will simply need to open the application and type their email address into the field. Once they have done this an email will be sent to that given address and they will need to click the link in the email to confirm verification.

If the user is assigned to a device and they get a new one or need to be assigned to an existing device, this can be achieved by clicking on the device in the dashboard and selecting “Change or unassign user”.

Please note this feature is irreversible as the users are loaded into the platform and a user profile is automatically created for them. If you have any questions please contact our support team for help!
