How does CyberSmart Patch work?

How does Cybersmart Patch work?

When a user has an available patch and this is selected from the dashboard by the organisations admin the following should occur.

Admin selects the patch they want to apply to the user's machine.

Depending on whether this is scheduled or the Admin selects Patch now, the user may see this be patched at different times.

Once a patch has been selected the Admin can view and watch the progress from the Patch History section of the dashboard.

From there the user will see this pop up appear.

The only user action required is to hit close and update and the patch will be applied. Certain software can not be updated whilst it is open and running, and in order to prevent downtime CyberSmart Patch will prompt the user to close and update the software, or select remind later if they are currently undertaking critical work.

It is recommended that the user does click Close & Update during one of the 3 prompts to ensure that the patch is applied correctly.

If the pop ups continuously occur during critical work times and it’s not practical for the application to be closed, then Auto Patch on a scheduled time frame might be more suitable.

Once the Patch has been applied this will then show as complete on the Dashboard for the Admins view.

If there are any issues with this, please contact CyberSmart supports team on Support@cybersmart.co.uk
