With Roles & Permissions, you can now configure the level of platform privilege and visibility granted to your CyberSmart users and admins. This will ensure that only those with responsibility for a given area of the platform will have access to it and reduce excessive permissions for everyone else.

We have created a new and improved UI, to support you in managing platform privileges effectively.
​

With Active Protect App Users & Groups, you can group users by role, department or custom criteria, to ensure that their devices receive only the checks relevant to their function. This is perfect for when you want to assign policies to specific groups, without notifying the wider business.

In Dashboard Access, you can set the privileges and permissions of your admin roles, to ensure that only those who have the right management responsibilities for areas of the platform, can see and edit them. By enforcing strong access control, you can give access to the right people at the right time, company wide.

To create a new user group, navigate to the Manage Users & Groups section of the dashboard. Here you will see any existing groups listed.

To create a new group, click the “Add new group” button. A form will appear where you can enter a name and description for the new group. The name should be a short but descriptive label like “Sales Team” or “Office Admins”.

In the “Description” field, you can enter any additional details about the purpose of the group or who should belong to it. Once you have completed these fields, click “Create Group” and the new group will be added to the list of existing groups. Now you can assign individual users to the group by editing them further down the page in the users section.

Our Smart Policies allow you to assign policies to specific users groups , rather than distributing them to all users. For example, you can create an “Administrators” group and assign them specific policies around platform administration and management.

This group-based approach makes it easy to update policies for an entire team by changing the group assignment. It also simplifies onboarding by allowing new users to inherit the policies of their assigned group.

To create a new policy, navigate to the Policies section and click “Create Policy”. Give the policy a name, assign them to a user group and upload the document to the platform.

Once configured, assign the policy to one or more user groups. You can edit or remove a policy at any time. There is also version history available so you can view past iterations of the policies you have uploaded.

Alongside the changes to Active Protect Users and Groups. We’re now adding a new feature to level up the administration of your CyberSmart dashboard.

With the introduction of Dashboard Access, you can now customise the level of access granted to your dashboard administrators. This feature enhances security by allowing you to restrict access to specific parts of the platform based on designated roles.

To add a new role, you need to navigate to the “Dashboard Access” tab on the “Manage Users” section of the dashboard. Next, click ‘Add new role’ and the below window will appear.

There are 3 permissions you can add to a role. By default, the Full Dashboard Admin has access to all 3. They are:

Once you have assigned permissions to the role, click “Submit” and this will create the new role.

You can now assign existing admins to it and designate new admins to this role seamlessly. This ensures a finely tuned and secure dashboard experience for your team.
